Interesting iPads!

We have got 16 new iPads to share in Foundation.  We are really enjoying using them to support our learning.

We are using lots of different apps.  Some help us with counting, some help us form our letters properly and some help us solve problems.  If you use any apps at home that you think are really good, then please let us know.

Street Parrrty!

To finish off our Diamond Jubilee celebrations we had a street party.  It was meant to be a picnic but the weather had other ideas!  We all designed a piece of bunting and we decorated our corridor like the old photos of street parties we had seen.  We all ate our lunch together and shared the scrummy cakes Key Stage Two had made for us.

Jolly Jubilee and Fantastic Flotilla celebrations

We have been learning all about the Diamond Jubilee in Foundation.  We learnt how the Queen became queen and some of the things she has done during her reign.  We have spent the week designing and making crowns, looking at old photos and talking about what we would do if we were Queen for a day.
We then found out about how the Diamond Jubilee would be celebrated.  We found out that there was going to be a Flotilla of over a thousand boats on the River Thames.  We really liked this idea so we researched it a bit more.  We found the Queen was having a special royal Barge made.  We decided to make a royal barge ourselves outside.  We even thought about how we could keep the queen dry if it rained.
We also made boats out of clay.  We found the boats were going to Tower Bridge so we made this too.  It even lifts up so the boats can go under.
